Happy New Year!

And how did our girls ring in the new year? In Atlantic City of course! Well, not really. When the new year actually began all five of us were tucked into our beds dreaming of our new year resolutions. But on January 1, we met my parents and Jen and Mike in AC b/c they were staying the night. We went to lunch at Rainforest Cafe and then took the girls swimming in the hotel pool! They had so much fun! Except that the pool was so cold (yes it was indoors!) that we came back up to Mommom and Poppop's room and played in the big bath tub in the room!!The girls don't care, they make their own fun no matter what. Case in point, jumping on the hotel bed (of which Ava and Liv rolled off opposites sides almost simultaneously), pushing all the buttons on the tv and running up and down the hallway!

Now for those resolutions! This year:

Lila, Olivia and Ava will sleep in big girl beds! Right now, when they get up in the morning, they climb out of the cribs and just come out to the TV room or our bedroom. At least in toddler beds, I don't have to worry about them breaking an arm getting out! This is part of the reason we have no more nap time. It was like a sorority party in there at nap time. I'm pretty sure I heard a margarita machine at one point! Our new nap routine is quiet time. The girls get in their sleeping bags on the living room floor and watch a Dora movie. They are really into it. They talk back to the characters (that is the idea in case you never saw the show - they are not crazy - yet!) and point to the things on the screen for Dora. So far so good, it is quiet and somewhat peaceful for at least one hour per day. That is one hour they can't try to kill each other!


Lila, Olivia and Ava will use the potty like big girls! they have a lot on their plate for this year! No serious attempts yet. We'll keep you posted.

Lisa will balance the checkbook. Don't ask, it is really bad!

Mike will paint my bathroom and living room and make the spare bedroom into a play room for the girls. He just doesn't know it yet!!
