Big Phillies Win

The girls are spending the night at Grandmom and Pop-pop Joe's tonight, so Lisa and I went to the Phillies game. They WON and the Mets lost meaning the Phils are in a tie for first in the NL East. It was an awesome game and the Chickie's & Pete's crabfries were delicious.

We are getting ready for the girls party which is Saturday. Lisa is going to make the cake tomorrow morning. We are then picking the girls up and going out for their 1 year portraits. We still can't believe it's been almost a year. We're going to need a new ticker at the top of the blog!

We should have some good birthday photos in our next update. Stay Tuned!

Quick Update

First, I have to say Happy First Birthday to Anna and Sophie!!! We missed their big birthday bash because we were on vacation. I'm sure it was a great day!

Now, on to my little bundles of joy!! Two days after that killer vacation, Ava and Lila both got a top tooth which could explain alot of our troubles. Ava now has a second one coming in and Lila's second cut through already. No one walks yet but Ava stands, contemplates it, realizes she can get there faster by crawling and then scoots away. In fact her new nickname is "scooter" because she is so fast at crawling. Olivia is standing really well and loves to "walk" while you hold her hands. Lila is the kissing queen. She wants to sit on my lap all day and give me kisses. All three of them will blow kisses to you now!!!

It is really funny to see them interact with each other. They chase each other around the living room or dining room, laughing all the while!! Olivia will hold out a toy and when one of the girls reaches for it she pulls it back and then they both fall over laughing. We went to the library babies program at, you guessed it, the library. i think the girls really had a good time. It was something new and it kept their attention with songs and stories. It is really cute program. But we had a heck of a morning getting there. After breakfast I let the girls crawl around the dining room and kitchen while I clean up. They made it to the hall bathroom before i could close the door. As I was getting Olivia to stop playing with the toilet water, Ava pulled out the drawer under the sink and hit herself in the face. As I put Olivia down to get Ava, Liv slipped on her pjs and fell into the side of the tub. Just because two of them were crying, Lila got upset and joined the chorus. Needless to say, we all took a nap shortly after and managed to make it to the library on time!! This story is pretty much a daily occurence around here. Just substitute a different room and name of baby. Ah, life with triplets!!! It is certainly never dull in our house!!!

Glad to be home

Well, we survived our first true vacation, and boy what a time we had. I won't say it was a great time, but it really had its moments. The problems started when Lila woke up the day we were leaving with a 102 degree fever. We got a doctor's appointment for 10:30 and they found nothing wrong but said it could lead to something. So, we went to Sea Isle.

Ava decided to scream for a few hours our first night there until we put her in a playpen in our room. She would not be the last one to use the playpen.

On Saturday, Lila was still hot even with Tylenol and Motrin so we went to the urgen care center in Avalon and it turns out she had an ear infection. So we got her Amoxycilin which she proceeded to spit back at us just about every time we gave it to her.

Lila and I took a few late night car rides while we were down there. I guess she couldn't get enough fun in the day, so she had to wake up at night!!

Overall, we managed to get two trips to the beach...one just Lisa and I and one with Grandmom and Pop-pop Joe, Aunt Jen and Uncle Mike and Aunt Sue and Madelyn. We made two trips to the OC boardwalk...one with the May version of Aunt Jen and Uncle Mike and one with Grandmom, Pop-pop Joe and Great Pop-pop.

During their second trip to OC we took them on a few of the rides and they seemed to like them for the most part. They mostly enjoyed riding up and down the boards in their choo choo wagon, waving at everyone that passed by. It was all too much fun for Olivia and she ended up falling asleep in Great Pop-pop's arms during the walk back to the car.

Just to make things even more fun, Lila developed a real nice rash on Friday that spread just about all over her. Then the girls decided not to sleep Saturday night.

We made a quick getaway on Sunday and came home. They were up until about 9, but then slept all night.

Lila got checked out by the pediatrician and she is now fine. The rash was probably from a viral infection that just happened to appear at the same time as the ear infection. All around bad timing.

I attached a bunch of pictures below to give some of the highlights of the trip. Next year should be a little easier!!
