In other news, the girls' language has just exploded. Every day they say something new. Apple juice, hot cocoa, pumpkin, puppy, boon (balloon), zoo, jumping, hanging - just to name a few. And don't forget "mine", everything new word or phrase usually begins with that. As in "my puppy", "my baby". Lila still babbles her speeches to us and I really wish we knew what she has been saying for the last 6 months!! But she does put words together to form some pretty good sentences. At least they are good to us!! Like "no, i do" or "mommy, buy it". Even Ava is getting into the action, her favorite new saying is "whoa daddy!" Then Olivia will walk around the house repeating it!
We took the girls to Great Adventure on Friday night for the fright fest stuff. We had been during the day but we thought we would try it later to see if they liked the park all lit up. We got up there around 5:30. All the kids areas were empty so the girls had their pick of rides. We even got to go around on the Big Red Cars a second time!! The halloween stuff wasn't a big hit with them but we lasted until 8:00 in the park. Mike and I were like "oh my god, we are the worst parents in the world. Here we are with our three 2 year olds out until the middle of the night!!" Well, at least it felt like the middle of the night to us! The girls did great staying up late and had a blast having the run of the rides. Lila actually stayed awake all the way home talking to us.
To live up to our motto of "go big or go home", we then took the girls to the Phila Zoo today for the Boo at the Zoo. Today went slightly less than perfect but ok overall. The girls were kinda cranky when we got to the zoo, not that the other 3 million people at the zoo seemed to notice. It was unbelievably crowded so we didn't give the girls as much room to run as we normally do. It was just tough to enjoy everything with so many people there. We are spoiled- we only usually go there during the week! The big story from the zoo would have to be that the girls came home with no candy. Why you ask? They ate every piece of candy that they got before we left the zoo!!!!
